A note to politicians…specially the ones on the side I support and want to see elected…please do not email me saying you are desperate or begging because you failed to reach the fundraising target. Its totally possible you failed because you set the target too high. Reaching targets we neither understand nor have any influence over will never get us to give more than we have already given or more than we can afford. PLEASE send positive messages about what you are achieving with the money you are given…we are not even interested in how much you have raised in isolation (a race you cannot possibly win against Wall St and the Kochs) and we are certainly not swayed by how much you fell short of your self-imposed target. Give us results. They are the most motivating things of all.
