A notice of intent seeking the recall of Modoc County Supervisor - TopicsExpress

A notice of intent seeking the recall of Modoc County Supervisor Jim Wills was filed earlier this week. The notice, filed by former supervisor Ray Anklin, claims Wills, who took office in January, “has acted in a personal capacity in a manner concerning Modoc County, which is a gross misuse of Supervisor Wills’ political office.” Modoc County Clerk Darcy Locken said Wills has seven days to respond. Ten days after Wills either does or does not respond, she said recall proponents must provide the clerk’s office with a draft petition that can be circulated after it is reviewed. Locken said 25 percent of the registered voters in the county’s fourth district, which includes Canby and areas outside Alturas — or about 265 voters — would need to sign the recall petition to trigger an election.
