A number of Right-wing nut jobs have come out of the darkness to blame the tragic murder of two NYPD police officers on Mayor De Blasio, President Obama and the protestors. Will they never consider the culpability of law enforcement officers who approach the privelage of serving the public with an attitude of superiority, contempt and callousness? Isnt it just as likely that the mentally ill gunman had seen the infuriating photos of police wearing I Can Breathe t-shirts, mocking the death of Eric Garner, and thats what sent him over the edge? This type of callous response to legitimate protests over the deaths of unarmed citizens is harmful to the cohesion of our society and should be repudiated by all. The struggle here is not between black and white or police and civilian, but between the just and the unjust. We need the just members of our law enforcement community to stand up as well. We cannot erase hatred with hatred, but it has been clearly demonstrated in history that the just can prevail through peaceful means. Resist, but never become the monster you wish to eliminate.
