A number of primary election results cases are being contested at the Swaziland High Court tomorrow (19 September 2013) Swazi Observer 18 September, 2013 . A number of national election results cases are being contested at the High Court. Only one of the cases has been determined and it is that of Jennifer du Pont of Eludzibini Polling Station under timphisini Constituency, yet the Secondary Elections are two days away. However, a majority of the judgments are to be handed down tomorrow. In most of the applications, the main ground for the call for nullification of the primary elections results is that a majority of voters who were within the polling station were turned back since it was already 5pm, the closing time to vote. Du pont wanted the court to nullify the primary elections results on the basis that she was de-campained by Chief Magudvulela of Ludzibini Chiefdom. Her application was dismissed by Judge Nkululeko Hlophe. The rest of the election cases are as follows; n Mabonabulawe Chiefdom under Shiselweni I Constituency is said to have run out ballot papers. The applicant, Thulani Dlamini, claims the voting process continued unhindered until 4pm when voters were advised that ballot papers had ran out. Vusi Sithole emerged as the winner. n Under Manzini South Constituency, the applicant Maria Temtini Dlamini, alleges that many eligible voters could not exercise their voting right as there was pushing and shoving resulting in some people being injured. She is challenging Bongani Baggio Dlamini. n At Sidwashini polling station under Mbabane East Constituency, aspirant MP Cedusizi Fakudze attributed his loss to the text messages sent to registered voters by Joseph Sibandze’s campaign assistant. n Former Mbabane Mayor Zaphaniah Nkambule, who lost the primary elections at Mbabane West Constituency, claims Johannes Shongwe held one of the contestants responsible for ritual murder in the presence of voters. n Butfongweni area was unable to vote due to the boundary dispute. Some residents of Butfongweni claim the areas falls under Mbekelweni and not Nkiliji. Cited as respondents are the Elections and Boundaries Commission, Chief Mkhumbi Dlamini and Liqoqo Supreme Council. The verdict will be handed down today. n At Manzini North Constituency, Webster Lukhele is challenging former minister Macford Sibandze. He argues that the voters’ roll was not used and that voters, who arrived before 5pm were turned back. The court has ordered that there should be another verification exercise under the constituency. n Former Senator Victor Malambe is being challenged by S’dumo Ndwandwe at Mhlangatane. Malambe is said to have distributed food to voters ahead the primary elections. n At Pigg’s Peak, former Cabinet Minister Hlobsile Ndlovu accuses businessman Jabulani ‘Buy Cash’ Mabuza of having bribed voters by splashing cash. n Mkhosi Dlamini is being challenged at Logoba area. n At Mayaluka area, Marwick Dlamini argues that Mark Bennett, who emerged the winner, does not belong in the area. n Sibusiso ‘Mabhanisi’ Dlamini at Kwaluseni Constituency also alleges that many voters were turned back at the polling station at 5pm. He claims over 7 000 had registered, but about 2 300 voted. He is challenging Purine Bhembe. The rest of the election cases could not ascertained. observer.org.sz/index.php?news=54589
