A number of you have asked how Im doing. After all, my voice pretty much conked out yesterday, so off I flew to the doctor. Who, let me add, looked into my throat and said, Youre throats horrible! (In his spare time, my doctor is a diplomat at the U.N.) Anyway, I have a throat infection, so its antibiotics and vocal rest for me (yeah, picture that). Mostly I sound like early Lauren Bacall and late Brenda Vaccaro. Or later-career Suzanne Pleshette. When I got home from work tonight, Ken said, You sound like Kathleen Turner. I think Im now done with this joke. (Yes, Mom, Im fine.)
