A one day event to celebrate the 66th #RepublicDay was organized by the MiRC at a #brickkiln worksite of Greater #Bhubaneswar on 26th January. A first of its kind initiative, the event gave #migrant #children and the working #labour #women an opportunity to come forward and be a part of the wonderful celebration. For the first time, two migrant women were given a chance to hoist the national flag. This was followed by a cultural program by the children who performed on various patriotic and folk songs. Later, a member of the Zilla Parishad, our Chief Guest for the day distributed sweets and study materials among the children. The efforts brought smiles on the face of many thus giving them immense happiness and making them feel that they are an important part of the society.
