A one-time political rant: It currently takes the US State Dept. - TopicsExpress

A one-time political rant: It currently takes the US State Dept. 457 days to approve immediate-family visas (think: my wife) for US citizens. This, in addition to thousands of dollars in fees, invasive interviews and humiliating medical exams. The State Dept. informs me they can no longer find the notarized birth certificate I sent on behalf of my stepson, necessitating getting another from the Netherlands; any papers the government misplaces adds three months to the wait. This is an *outrage*. Want immigration reform? Start by helping US citizens who bothered to do this the right way. }:^(
