A paper on our collaobrative work with Toyota Mortor Corporation entitled "High-coercivity ultrafine-grained anisotropic Nd–Fe–B magnets processed by hot deformation and the Nd–Cu grain boundary diffusion process" by H. Sepehri-Amin et al. has been published on-line in Acta Materialia on August 19, 2013. This paper reports on the substantial enhancement of coercivity of hot-deformed anisotropic neodimium permanet magnets by a grain boundary diffusion process using a Nd-Cu eutectic alloy. It also reports detailed microstructure study to explain the effect.
