A parent asks our group: Both of my kids just got denied admission to a summer camp due to their SPD. This is the same school that was willing to admit my son for the school year--just not the summer. And when I called to advocate for my kids and say why they would be a good fit, the director held her ground and wouldnt even give them an opportunity. Have others experienced this kind of discrimination? How have you gone about finding an appropriate summer camp for your SPD kids? (My dd is 6 and is avoidant and ds is 4 and is a seeker.)
