A parent asks our group: Good Morning, Although I have read several questions and answers on this amazing site, I have been hesitant on writing and asking my own questions for several reasons. But here I go. Background on my 15 month old (4th child, my only medical child): was born lifeless and required o2 and heart compressions. He quickly revived and seemed fine, requiring no PICU or anything. We found out later he had suffered extensive bradycardia while I was in labor, still unsure as to how long this had been going on. Since birth we have been to and still see numerous speciaists: ENT, Pulmonology, GI, Ortho, Feeding/Nutrition Specialists, Cranial Neuro and now a Ped Neuro. He has received OT and PT since about 6 months due to Torticollis and Feeding Issues. He has had numerous diagnosis: Torticollis, Plagiocephaly (wore helmet for 4 months), Tracheomalaca, Laryngomalacia, Dysphagia (still suffers as hes on thickened elecare/almond milk mix and only purees), global developmental delay and GERD. Recently we have been referred to the Ped Neurologist. We met with her and the decision has been to run an EEG to rule out Myoclonus Seizures and then a sedated MRI to rule out Chiari and brain injury. Weve also been referred to a Developmental Clinic. My Little One: he has always been an easy baby, relaxed and content with himself, always loved baths from day one; within the last few months he has begun rocking all day, banging his head on furniture for up to 8 hours a day, still does not engage in play (throws and kicks toys or stares at them), has oral motor issues (textures, high palate, tongue manipulation issues), does not walk but stands for up to 30 seconds and does crawl, has motor planning problems, loves to look at lights and does gaze into nowhere land at times, still has eye contact when eating but weve noticed a slight change in this, etc... He loves to cuddle but only when he wants to; he has begun to move away from people if too close or if someone talks or comes too close he will rock and turn his head, and has really started becoming upset if someone other than mom and dad picks him up. He is a happy boy, unless being changed, dressed, hungry or tired. Sorry for the long post, but my questions are: Does this sounds like SPD? Possibly ASD? Have any other parents felt like they are in a 360 degree circle that never ends? Thanks you #verystressedoutmomma
