A parent asks our group: My son is 5 years old, diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome, always has been delayed developmentally, major speech issues.. Mild anxiety/depression (so they say-not sure if I believe that part) hes a very happy child however he is emotional at different times. Gets his feelings hurt fairly easily. So anyways, in the past few months maybe 2, hes starting making noises almost nonstop. Its always either a mmmmm mmmm mmmm mmm sound, or other times its guh-guh guh guh its continuous, while watching tv, or laying in bed to go to sleep. If hes stimulated socially he doesnt do it. Or if hes busy. But jus sitting/laying he does it. Ive thought of reasons why he would do it. Like, maybe his continued speech therapy and its habit forming... Or something to do with autism. Anyone had this before ? Its just sudden, thats what I hate. 3 months ago he didnt do it AT ALL. Any suggestions, opinions anything is appreciated.
