A parent asks our group: My son is 9yrs old and has PDD-NOS, SPD, dyspraxia, and apraxia, and a few other small things. We homeschool and while he is making great progress in my opinion in school he gets so frustrated with himself. He says he cant read because he thinks he should be better at it by now, he struggles considering he cant make certain letter sounds and the fact that he doesnt hear sounds pronounced correctly most times. He also struggles with handwriting and often erases through the paper from frustration or throws the pencil. Anyone have any advice on how to make him feel proud of his accomplishments and how I can help him to continue to practice and give it his all with out the tantrums and meltdowns? Thanks!
