A parent asks our group: My son was diagnosed with Regulatory disorder a few months ago. We were so excited to have a finally have diagnose and move forward. We had genetic testing done as well and got a call yesterday that they found an irregularity. He has balanced translocation on just one of his chromosomes. In other words, one of his chromosomes has all the genetic material but its mixed up. My husband and I have to be tested this week. We were told if one of us has it then it wouldnt effect his development because we are Normal but if we dont have it then they have to dig deeper to see if this is related to his issues. This came as a shock yesterday as we thought the not knowing was behind us. Has anybody elses child had something like this? weve been researching but can only find medical type pages and not real stories. I want to read the good and bad. I want to prepare myself for what this could possibly mean for us. thanks for the taking time to read!
