A parent asks our group: Please help! I have 3 kids. 15 with no diagnosis, 12 with aspergers and SPD avoider and 3 undiagnosed but probable SPD seeker and ODD. Today I put the 3 year old down for a nap. About 2 hours later, she started screaming and kicking with her eyes closed. She freaked out if anyone touched her at all. I had to put her down on the floor so she wouldnt hurt herself. This lasted almost 30 minutes. I tried everything to wake her as I believe she was still asleep possibly having a nightmare. When she finally calmed down, she repeatedly told me she fell off the bed which she didnt. Thats why Im thinking nightmare. It was very heartbreaking to not be able to fix it. Ive never seen anything like this. She most definitely has huge meltdowns but will usually verbalize to leave her alone or hold her. I need a plan in case it happens again as I work nights so shes with a sitter.
