A parent asks our group: Tried to take my 4 year old little man to the train show today. He is obsessed with trains. So frustrating!!! I hate how it is so hard to take him to do something he loves. He absolutely cannot walk with us holding hands. In a second he drops to the ground and pulls away and bolts any chance he gets. (This happens everywhere... anyone else? And how do you handle it?)My husband had to keep him on his shoulders the whole time and he is not little. He had a meltdown about his shoes and socks so we had to take them off. Loved the looks we were getting for that one. Numerous other meltdowns with hitting and screaming. I just wish it was easier for him and for our family to go and do things together. Sorry for the rant.
