A parent asks our group: We are having trouble getting my 3 year old diagnosed with SPD, and we are having a really hard time with her behavior. From what she does, Id say shes a sensory seeker... Our big issue currently is how to deal with her outbursts. She will throw herself into a fit of rage (literally throw herself around the room), seemingly on a whim. Nothing we do will bring her out of it...weve tried every suggestion the doctors have given us. Shell have these fits for hours at a time, occasionally getting so violent with her screaming that she forces herself to throw up. I dont know what to do, our doctor and friends say shes just being a toddler, and tell us to ignore it. Has anyone else been through this? And What did you do?
