A parent shares with our group: Just venting. Winter sucks! 5 yr old daughter, SPD AND ADHD, been in trouble every day this month at school, except 3 even on calming meds. 30* weather, snow, ice on the ground, she wanted to wear skirt with built-in shorts and pants. Knowing this wouldnt last all day, but already had one argument no pants no skirt, and ready for the dont touch my hair argument, I let her. Picked her up, no pants, no underwear, no shoes or socks, only that skirt (and short sleeve shirt because long sleeves wrinkle ) from after school program. Seriously. I want to cry for her. I want to yell at the teachers, why do you let her take off shoes and socks every day. But knowing the socks, shoes bother her, it makes it bad too. Oh yeah, the new boots and shoes I bought this month bother her too. Awesome for single mom with more debt than income! :(
