A parent writes, My son is 16 months, happy and healthy thank goodness! He is 25 lbs. and very tall, 97%. Today at his well check the pediatrician diagnosed him dx him with hypospadias (very mild/Inferior case) and possible chordee (tight cord inside his penis that causes it to bend/curve a slight bit during an erection). We have been referred to a urologist. The ped suggested possible surgery to move his urethra opening up higher and to release the tight cord. He also mentioned having to snip off a small piece of his foreskin (he is intact). He said that less than even 1/4 of the foreskin will be taken. PLEASE advise on any and all information you have on these two issues. I am so scared of any sort of penile surgery, forced retraction, suggestions of circumcising him, etc. Thank you in advance from a worried mama!
