A pastor graduates from Bible school this month after long years of study. He receives his cow, plow and cattle prod for starting out in ministry. I am sure he must have been excited to finally be on his way to full time ministry and assigned a village to start off in his ministry. Day before yesterday he gets into a taxi van and before he can arrive at his destination the van hits a tree going full speed and 11 people are dead and he is severely injured. He has broken his thigh bone and it is protruding out of the skin of his leg and on the opposite side he has dislocated his hip bone. Hours and hours later after being transported in an ambulance he arrives in the capital city where he is awaiting surgery, major surgery. In an instant his life has changed with no warning. He has a long road ahead of him, and he hopes that he survives the surgery, possible infections, and he hopes he will one day walk again. Please pray for Abdias Bonzi when God brings him to your mind. Pray for his body, his mind, his family, for the surgeon and for the long road to recovery. Also pray for the families of the 11 who died. One was one of our Christians sisters who was on her way to the city in the same taxi for a doctors appointment. In an instant, with no warning, your life can change direction, or even end. Laughter can turn to tears, joy to sadness, hope to agony, and the most important question is Are you ready for eternity? When that moment comes, if it does, are you ready to face what comes in regards to eternity. I am so glad that I know Jesus and no matter what I face it will never be alone. I also know when this body dies my spirit will live forever with no more hurt, suffering, agony, or illness. I may have hard times here on earth, but truly this time is short, and my real hope is for what comes after. Pray for those affected by this tragic accident, and for Abdias in the hospital too. You have no idea how powerful your prayers are! We literally feel them here.
