A perfect example of why Silicon Valley, far from being a center of innovation, is actually a huge brain drain from the actual sort of world-changing tech research we need. I know some really smart people who could be the next Richie who run off to become code monkeys for a dating app in the hopes of cashing out on the California gold rush before the mine collapses; the thought of how much *real* innovation is being lost as a result sickens me to my stomach.
