A person in a responsible position if he does things forcefully and successfully That are in the public’s interest -- one way or another acquires a dubious recognition of as being the dictator. In the recent history just look at some who did amazing feats but got identified as bad names. Guess by whom -- those who do not want public welfare, solutions of social ills, eradication of poverty and corruption, education, healthcare, women’s liberation, environment, and so on. They were also called dictators President Franklin Roosevelt – eradicated 30’s depression and massive social programs President Lyndon Johnson – civil rights activist in the US Indira Gandhi – Green revolution and defense President Eisenhower – cautioned against military-industrial complex Gandhi – Noncooperation with nonviolence to achieve objectives Jesus – The greatest socialist Sardar Patel – Courage to see and speak things as they are on religions Ralph Nader – consumer protection and labor rights Gloria Steinem – Women’s rights Kiran Bedi – Initiator of meditation for prisoners And plenty more! There’s fortunately a term for those who call them dictators, that is, it is not fiscal, but social conservatives. How can such people be elected in democracies is an enigma to me! Therefore, those in who burn the fire for a cause, you are in good company! ***
