A person who calls themselves a Christian cannot follow in Christs footsteps and remain lukewarm. Their is nothing about Christ that is lukewarm. The Spirit gives us spiritual zeal to do the will of the Father, the Spirit will not tolerate a tepid attitude in the say way that the Spirit does not tolerate a sinful nature. The moment we come to Christ and are saved, is not the destination, but the beginning of a new life in Him. As Christians we will falter from time to time, like sinning, we will be lukewarm at times, but the Spirit will convict us and compel us to be on fire for Him. To remain in a lukewarm state is to be in danger of being spit out, disciplined for our neutrality. A lukewarm attitude, ultimately will destroy a church, because it will become a place where God is not.(Church in Laodicea, Revelation 3)
