A person who wants to teach has to go to a university to learn how to teach by people who do not know how to teach. Said student is required to take a host of exams created by some university just to be “licensed” to teach for the government, but said university professor does not. The university system in this country is churning out people who are compliance enforcers, not teachers or educators. What we have today in our universities is akin to taking a group of people who have no artistic ability and teaching them how to churn out cartoons, but never in their lifetime will they ever produce a landscape. You can’t take people who lack the ability to teach and make them educators. Teaching is an art, just as painting is, and until we re-learn this lost ideal we’ll continue to see America being dumbed down.
