A photograph appeared today on a FB entertainment page which transposed our Flier Friendly ad campaign with the words: Ebola Friendly. It has inexplicably received several positive, supportive comments from UA colleagues, one of whom is pictured IN UNIFORM standing in front of the tail of a UNITED AIRCRAFT. Is it possible that we have so completely lost our sense of boundaries that we can see this as anything other than irresponsible? It is dark and potentially expensive to the credibility capital of both a company and an industry. In the long-run, its the credibility capital that really matters. Our own people propagate, celebrate and distribute this sort of thing yet simultaneously bemoan the mistreatment we sometimes receive at the hands of the public we serve. Honor and credibility dont get to take a break; they must be on ALL of the time. If we can see ourselves so darkly, can we be surprised or offended when the traveling public sees the same?
