A player in the insurance sector says the government should consider introducing incentives and policies that are conducive to local private investors. This stems from the fact that the country continues to financially dependent on the support from development partners, just months away from clocking fifty in July. Chief Executive Officer of smile life insurance Company Stain Singo says there is need to open more local companies which can fast track the growth of the economy. He says Smile life insurance is wholly owned by Malawian investors, an arrangement which ensures that all the returns made from business remain in the country. He urges regulators to be considerate when passing compliance regulations to avoid choking local companies.
