A point of pride for our volunteers is the fact that we often rescue dogs from kill shelters we know are too old or sick to ever be adopted. We place these compassionate care dogs in the best homes where they receive the love and care they should have had all their lives. We never know whether they will cross the rainbow bridge in weeks, months or years. However long it is it is never long enough. Sadly in the last two months SCBR has lost four wonderful compassionate care dogs. Their foster families loved them as family members. While our hearts break that they are gone we can smile through the tears knowing that these old dogs did not die scared and alone on a shelter floor, but passed in loving arms after experiencing the unconditional love of a family. We love you and miss you Layla, Bruno, Hank and River. We are happy you could join the SCBR/SCF family if even for a short time. Please share in their memory.
