A point to consider for the next wedding you are invited to..... When you send back an RSVP to say you are coming, this is to give the bride and groom the go ahead to book and pay for a meal for you as their honoured guest. If you know that you are then not going to make it, it is polite to inform them so that they may avoid spending unnecessary amounts on top of the many thousands already spent on giving their friends and family the greatest party ever! The 24 people who didnt bother turning up for us have been collectively responsible for wasting £650 of our money on main meals and roughly another £150 on cream teas and cava for those also invited during the daytime. The biggest disappointment, however is knowing there were another 24 of our friends who missed out due to tight numbers and would have loved to have been there ☹ This status does not apply to those that sent messages with genuine reasons that couldnt be helped (7 in total).
