A popular Bible teacher, in teaching others to teach the Bible, - TopicsExpress

A popular Bible teacher, in teaching others to teach the Bible, said "I taught these leaders never to respond with "That’s not right," but simply to thank the individual and ask if someone else might have a different opinion. Discussion leaders were not intended to teach their class, but rather to encourage fellowship and discussion of answers and to have occasional simple discussion class luncheons." //Wow, what a dangerous pedagogy! This is actually a Marxist philosophy of dialectic materialism. The study method is thus called "The Dialectic Process." Thesis + Antithesis = Synthesis The Bible needs no antithetical response. The Bible is not concerned with your opinion. It is rooted in the power of the Holy Spirit "delivered once for all." It is a living, historical summation of the nature and character of The Living God given to men to understand both this Divine nature and the nature of man himself--sin and all. It is given as the special revelation from God to man as instruction for reconciliation through the finished work of Christ on the cross. It is the living breath of God. True Bible study should be exegetical, using such tools as necessary to understand the historical and grammatical nature of the Spirit-breathed Words of God written by men ordained of God in times, cultures, and circumstances which were "just right" for each revelation. The Bible needs not "the logic of illusion" (ancient references to dialectic reasoning) but rather the power of the Holy Spirit in the heart of man who seeks to renew the old mind with words of power and love.
