A post from my friend Corina Collins My little princess has bronchial croup, upper respiratory infection and fever right now, She constantly complains she feels something stuck in her throat and spits clear out all the time, cant breath through her nose ( i have a humidifier ) have tried the steam, the cool air outside...EVERYTHING AGAIN They think she has asthma and allergies, BUT still are not sure... i stopped giving her all the allergy medications they had prescribed for allergies she was on because they dried her up and she could not swallow at all. ..... she coughs all the time 24/7 and she even coughs in her sleep...it is sad, She is on a Nebulizer treatments, oxygen machine and Steriods temporary so she can get her airway back to normal. I took her to a follow up with her E.N.Specialist yesterday because i had a gut feeling again, get it every single time she wakes up with a barking seal cough and could not breath.she had a nightmare of a panic attack and i held her telling her it was alright called 911 for the paramedics to get here, they said her oxygen was too low and she was weezing..not good...they gave her a breathing treatment as soon as she got in that truck....got to the E.R. told her whole story and history for 6 years she has been suffering with this croupy barking seal cough, itchy, painful cough...she said she looked fine, i again asked for steriods...nothing, i explained i would be back in a few hours .if she could not give her a shot to help open her airway, well guess what again, mommy was right again....and i so i explained to a different doc on staff and asked him for a script of emergency steriods because that is the only thing to open her airway, NOTHING AGAIN...and he laughed and said no she just has a cold too i wanted to go for his throat ... really... but i was sane and behaved and patient.....everyone knows if you stop breathing you have minutes to act....so guess what happened yes, she woke up again at 8:00 a.m her not breathing, strider cough ( scary ) high pitch sound no air but a tiny tiny hole to get air because of the swelling........ well mommy was right again in the morning. Took her to her Pediatrician and he could not believe they did nothing for her he said he wants to see her in a few days and if not getting better to bring her back and he will get her admitted to hospital, i said not this one, no way he said that was fine. sighs... nerves are shot out..... She was so sick for a half a year and was 33 pounds and she is 6 and a half almost 42, she had her tonsils and adenoids out and i thought and was praying and hoping that would be the answer..i was wrong,...... she has no appetite again and worried she will loose weight again , she is so tiny framed it scares me when i see a cut tummy and spine and ribs showing, but the doctors says she is at a safe weight and to stop worrying.... Everything in my home is all natural, i use no chemicals, dont smoke, no pets anymore no carpet, ect ect. clean filters wash bed covers and blankets every other day,clean the wood floors with vinegar , no perfumes....ahhh sighs... everything is hypoallergenic so i am basically going crazy trying to figure her out, i just want her healthy again! She and i dont eat meat or dairy and lots of fruits and veggies are our thing no soda juice and water only.....there has got to be a correct diagnosis for my child... blood work perfect, i dont understand and am so puzzled by this mystery of illness Anyone a Doctor, a nurse or anyone who would have any insight on this i would appreciate it so much~ much love and thanks to you x~ CC ~ A very worried mommy~
