A post with three different videos of three different versions of a song from a 1960s Garage Rock band from 50 years ago, around this time, that probably didnt realize at the time just how much they were a leading edge of some big changes in the way Rock n Roll was going to change in style in the two years after they had a hit with this tune. From San Francisco came a band, with influences in country and folk, consisting of Sal Valentino (lead vocals), Ron Elliott (lead guitar), Ron Meagher (bass guitar), Declan Mulligan (rhythm guitar, bass and harmonica) and John Peterson (drums) and calling themselves The Beau Brummels. From their December 1964 released debut album, Introducing The Beau Brummels came their first single and the song Laugh Laugh that in February 1965 went to #15 on Billboard Magazines HOT 100 charts and #17 on Cashbox Magazines Top 100 charts. The Beau Brummels Laugh Laugh was the first time many of the U.S. audiences had heard what would come to be known as the San Francisco sound in Rock n Roll (a sound that two years later nearly overtook the British Invasion and actually did for a while that year of 1967 into 1968 in terms of popularity.) More importantly The Beau Brummels would be the first U.S. Garage Rock band to have hits in a country other than the U.S. when Laugh Laugh went to #2 in Canada and #78 in Australia. They would go on to have further success, but just on the strength of Laugh Laugh, The Beau Brummels secured themselves a place in Rock n Roll history. Below the image of The Beau Brummels performing live in 1965, are three videos for the song Laugh Laugh. One is a compilation performance video of two sources, one is their performance on ABC-TVs Shindig! and the other is their performance on the independent and local L.A. TV show, Hollywood A Go-Go (not to be confused with NBC-TVs Hullabaloos segment with a similar name.) The second video is of an alternate take of Laugh Laugh along with their follow-up hit, Just a Little. And the third video just for fun is of The Beau Brummelstones appearances in the B.C. (Before Christ) era on Shinrock! on the ABC (Abadabba-do Communications Network) being introduced by host Jimmy ONeillstone and with two of their fans, Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble watching:
