A praying mantis controlled by a parasitic worm. This Mantis walk - TopicsExpress

A praying mantis controlled by a parasitic worm. This Mantis walk normally as if she looked to be alive. In reality, she is about to die since controlled by a parasitic worm called the nematomorph worm Spinochordodes tellinii. This worm has the particularity to transform an insect in zombie, often crickets, grasshoppers, spiders or Mantis as is the case here. This worm is able to influence the behavior of its host once he took control and most importantly that it entered his body. His goal? Push its host to commit suicide, although often by falling into the water to drown. Here is a praying mantis which is contaminated by this worm, and whose movements are fully controlled by this parasite.
