A pretty interesting look at the Berkeley protests. While I absolutely have an issue with protesters harming businesses (especially small and local and especially at this time of year), this turned violent incredibly quickly for no reason on both sides. It was striking for me to watch Jakes favorite restaurant Top Dog having tear gas sprayed directly in front of it. Glad that both sides showed more restrain last night, even if it included blocking the freeway and blocking an Amtrak train and that it took Berkeleys mayor and city manager telling the police force that using tear gas downtown wasnt acceptable unless there was a severe threat. Given that its still Berkeley, Im sure well see more over the coming days vimeo/113841341
