A preview of college running in 2012 boys 800-meter event MUSKEGON -- Take a look back at a boys 800-meter race in the 34th Annual Meijer West Michigan Invitational Track Meet that featured three future college runners. The runners are Chase Barnett, of Mason County Central; Luke Johnson, of Ludington; and Will Wilson, of Kent City. Barnett is now at the University of Michigan and Johnson and Wilson are at Michigan State University. Barnett wins the race with a time of 1:57.49. Alex Webb, of Mona Shores, finishes at 1:57.65 and Johnson at 1:57.79. Wilson takes fifth place in the race behind Travess Smith, of Hesperia. Jennie Gottardo, of Hart, wins the girls 800-meter run in 2:23.29.
