A protest rally against the Fergueson verdict in the death of Michael Brownin Phoenix was held at the Federal Building. The BAJI group and Black and Brown Coalition presented the event along with support from Puente Human Rights Movement and other organizations. SOMOS America was contacted to attend along with , Lucha, No More Deaths, PAZ were among supporters. Many people spoke out on the injust verdict and testimonys of Police harassment, racial profiling and brutality. Everyone agreed that the Fergueson verdict was not fair and that there are similar situations all over the country and here in Phoenix.. Phoenix PD kept a low key presence and that added to the peaceful atmosphere. This is not the first time a situation has developed like this but it should be the last.
