A question for the doctors on my list (bonus points if you are an infectious disease geek): how long can neurosyphilis present? Im researching the prohibition era, and one Capone biographer claims that Capones rage can be attributed to neurosyphilis. He contracted the disease in his late teens, and he rose to power in his mid-twenties/early thirties. He eventually died of the disease in his late forties. Im not convinced that someone could exhibit symptoms of neurosyphilis for twenty years without, you know, *dying*, but Im having a hard time finding information to corroborate that suspicion. Any and all help appreciated.
