A question from an adopter: Our 9 1/2 yr. old Buddy started - TopicsExpress

A question from an adopter: Our 9 1/2 yr. old Buddy started having seizures yesterday. Very sad and scary. I had no idea what to do for him. We rushed him to the Vet and they gave us Phenobarbital 1.5 grams every 12 hours, and said it would take about 2 weeks for him to adjust to the medication. The Vet feels its a growth in his head. He hasnt had another seizure since started the meds but is so groggy and unsteady. He has fallen over several times. Has anyone experienced this before? We dont know what to do. We cant stand the thought of letting him go but, we also feel bad for putting him through this. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Laura and Jeff Witmer
