A question from our inbox: Hi. I am from Pakistan. I had my first baby via emergency c sec in January 2014. I am an air force officer wife n was seeing the army drs in the army hosp where the drs. prefer c sec mostly. I left one hosp bcz the gynecologist there clearly told me that she induces her patients on working days n i saw her doing c sections. I went to another army hosp bcz of having good amount of drs availble there. But here again i saw almost the same trend of c sec. One thing the drs. told me that i was having a big baby. So after baby weight estimates (3.3kg) they said they would induce me at 39 weeks on monday night but my contractions started at Saturday night i was not aware of the timings n real contractions. I had the bloody show and mucus plug removed and i thought of that early discharge as the water break. I arrived at the hosp at 6 am in the morning. Dr checked me and said these r just membranes breaking and ur water is intact but i said that i do have water discharge in the night. She said its ur first experience so u r sayng it a water break. Its not. But when the shift changed the stupid junior dr came and she said oh ur water has broken n now u tel u wana fo for elective c sec. I said no i want to try normal. She said that emeegncy c sec will cause u double pain. She said ok we gona induce u and in 6 hrs if u dnt do then will do c sec. I was so woried and afraid and there i was monitered ctg blood pressure and what not. Induced via prostaglandin and the nurse on my monitering was so rude and monster like with her scolding behavior. (now when i look back i want to punch her bcz her behavior was affecting me n in that time i needed peace n kind words) after wards one dr came after 4 hrs of inducing and checked me internaly and said i had food pelvic floor (previous hospital dr told me i had narrow pelvis and cant deliver normal baby) broke my water while doing her finger checkup and said o meconium is there and now rush to the OT and i got some really bad pains at that time when i was given urine bag attached i was feeling strong pains and urge to push and they put me on wheel chair and took me to the OT. There i laid for 20 more min waiting for anesthesiologist on call to give me spinal and i was in much pain and feeling to push but no one was listening. Then came anesthesiologist gave me spinal and i got relief from lower body numbness and so much relieved that I slept and when woke up had baby girl dressed up. It was a failure for me. Suffered postpartum depression and the c sec trauma still haunts me. Healing was also difficult. Now joined this group and am aware about many things. Really wanna go for vbac with my second baby whenever i conceive. But this time wanna go to hosp and dr with full knowledge so that i cant experience that things again which i faced earlier. Please help me locate a good vbac supportive dr n hosp in Lahore or Islamabad Pakistan. I really need a good dr as i have never ever met any good supportive dr and it really scares me when i think about going to a dr. Bcz of my experience. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thank you in advance. #ICANSupport
