A questioned Im asked regularly by clients is What if I am not sure I know my purpose? Sometimes it feels when Im asked this question that clients expect it to be some really ethereal ,esoteric answer and the truth is, that it isnt that complicated. One of the times I had to answer this question with a prospective client that wanted to work with me but wasnt sure what that looked like for him, I simply said that is why you work with me. So we can go together on a journey that will allow you to define what that means for you as an individual with all your own personal beliefs, experiences and goals. Very often I find most clients dont really have clear goals and that always impacts their ability to determine their purpose. The other answer I find often relates to a persons role. Doctors tell me their purpose is to make people better. A mother I worked with who was an attorney before becoming a mother and staying home to raise her child, when she was asked this question she simply said my purpose is to be a mom. Thats awesome but thats not what I refer to as your purpose. I am talking deeper within you and in the fiber of your being. Not to say that being a mom cant be that, but you need to make sure it is and your clear on what it looks like and feels like for you. I have a friend who drives a nice car and on his license plate it saysTRUDGE. I jokingly said to him one day you should change that to TRUDGED since you have the nice car already. It seems to me the work is done. Well I first had to admit I didnt clearly understand the meaning of TRUDGE; which is to walk with a purpose. Thankfully my friend is a great friend and didnt embarass me or make fun of me for not knowing the real meaning. But when I think of purpse and am talking deep inside I think also of TRUDGE. To walk with a purpose is to make sure that everything you do, say, plan, and execute is in alignment with that PURPOSE. The idea of finding your purpose and living in it is what drives me to coach. I havent always known my purpose and the journey to find mine has been a long and winding road. But thankfully I can tell you now that I am sure with every fiber of my being my purpose is to help you. This is really about how simple and clear things can get with a coach and then an objective viewpoint and a plan. This is what I do and I thought I would share with you so you know you too can find it. I am here to serve you. Thank you and here is to living your PURPOSE!!!
