A quick football question (Im unclear on this): If a receiver running down field drops the ball, and it hits the ground before a defending player can recover it, does the turnover still count? Or is the play over bcuz the ball has touched the ground? Ive seen examples where a defender has scooped the ball up and ran it all the way back for a touchdown, even after the first player has lost the possession. Just wondering.
