A quick note about the fires that erupted yesterday in Southern Colorado, for all who are on their way to the Cuchara Country Music Festival or who are still wanting to get tickets... We want to emphasize that Cuchara and the Cuchara Valley is NOT affected by any of these events and the Cuchara Country Music Fest will go on as planned on Saturday. The Middle Creek Fire is approximately 10-12 miles north and west of Cuchara and word is that firefighters are getting it contained. The Royal Gorge Fire is some 72 miles to the north, and the Black Forest Fire is 110 miles to the north near Colorado Springs. Again, NONE of these are affecting the Cuchara Valley. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who are in the path of these fires and hopes are that authorities can get them knocked down quickly.
