A quick update on the happenings at 5348 Fredericksburg Way W. The next month will be very busy here and most of it will be fun. Tomorrow is not a fun day! The toenail on my right big toe will be removed tomorrow afternoon. I’m not expecting any complications and I figured that if I’m recovering from the infusion stuff, I can recover from the toenail issue at the same time. This is called multi-tasking, or is it multi-healing? Saturday through Tuesday is a fun time since Mark’s sister Judy is coming for a visit. We’ll ask her before she leaves if it was a fun time for her! Nathan will come and go after an hour or two visiting as he breezes through on a business trip on Monday. CT scan on Friday and Dr. Penley appointment on the 28th. The fun really starts on the 30th when we go to San Antonio to be with all of Mark’s family for a few days. His twin sister Jean and her husband will travel from South Carolina, we will go from here, and the other two siblings live in Texas. The Edwards family has lots of stories to tell and have renamed many things and I will have a recorder to capture it all for generations to come (I hope!). Then on to Santa Fe. Fred and Jo Ann Heifner have a condo there and have graciously offered it to us for a few days. It has been a very long time since we have been there and we are so excited. It is just the kind of vacation we need now and our spirits will be restored. We are meeting some friends we have known since before we married, 44 years ago, and we will have a fantastic time. Just what we need before we come back and begin whatever new medicines that Dr. Penley will suggest. In the Celebrating Grace hymnal, this song is in the season of Lent. That may be so, but I think it is very appropriate for any time of year. And I think it is just right for tonight. How Deep the Father’s Love for Us How deep the Father’s love for us, how vast beyond all measure; That He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure. How great the pain of searing loss; the Father turns His face away as wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many unto glory. Behold the Man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders; Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers. It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished. His dying breath has brought me life; I know that it is finished. I will not boast in anything; no gifts, no power, no wisdom; But I will boast in Jesus Christ; His death and resurrection. Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer. But this I know with all my heart: His wounds have paid my ransom. Thank you each for your comforting prayers and love. You are Christ’s hands and feet on this earth and you are doing a very good job. You are true blessings. Hugs to each, Honey and Mark P.S. Mark is at choir practice tonight and hasn’t proofed this for me. Please excuse typos and such.
