A race report from Gardner racing Briefing Competició team with our rider Luca Gardner participated last weekend in the third round of Campeonato Mediterráneo de Velocidad (CMV) in the circuit of Calafat (Tarragona). On Saturday morning the 10 riders started to go on track, which was still wet from the rain that had fallen during the night. Thus began a day of seven free practices of thirty minutes each. In these trainings, some improvements were tested in the bike and suspensions were adapted to the circuit layout. At the end of the day the feelings about the MD250 MORIWAKI were good for both Luca and the technicians. Sunday began with a thirty minute qualifying practice. Luca went out on track to set a good time and went he got off the bike he was in the front line of the grid in 3rd position. After the timed sessions, he ran the 8 laps of the first race of the day. Luca had a perfect start reaching the first position at the end of the straight line, but after being overtaken by two riders he rode in a comfortable 3rd place. With 4 laps to go, he got out of the track without serious consequences, but for the loss of a position. He ended up the race in 4th place. The second 12-lap race began with the uncertainty of whether it would rain or not. Finally, after seeing that it wouldn´t rain, dry tires were chosen. Luca began the race and performed another fantastic start again placing himself in 1st position at the end of the line. After 4 laps Luca was in 3rd place when Race Control decided to pull a red flag for an accident, fortunately without consequences for the rider concerned. Fifteen minutes later, the riders returned to the grid to start a new race of 8 laps. When the lights went out for the third time, Luca rode to be in first positon. He finally ended in 3rd place. In the combination of the two races, Luca got the 3rd position and went up the podium one more time. With this last weekend race, one third of the Championship has already been covered. The CMV takes a holiday until September 7-8 at the Alcarràs Circuit (Lleida), where Briefing Competició team looks forward to enjoying the next races.
