A rare coincidence that one of my IIMA batch mates Chief Secretary of NirUttar Pradesh ~ Jawed Usmani has been fired as a scapegoat by the UP CM making him responsible for the recent UP atrocities and replaced by another one of my IIMA batch mates Alok Ranjan ... Both of them have excelled at their jobs and there are strong indications that a talent like Jawed may soon head for the PMO... Jawed Usmani has been the first muslim Chief Secretary and once the elections put Akhilesh Yadav in place, the politicians had no further role for him. In fact more than once Jawed Usmani had gone on leave but was persuaded to come back again and again... this time he may not. An illustrious and talented bureaucrat like him is ideally suited for the role of Cabinet Secretary and I have inklings of Namo doing just that. Regarding Alok Ranjan ~ he too has tremendous capacity to work. Before current position, he has been handling more than, 30 deptts relating to infrastructure, Agri and Rural dev sectors. He commands great respect among cadre fraternity. All the best Alok and Jawed. In the meantime another of my IIMA batchmates Jageshwar Saharia is already doing excellent work as Chief Secretary Maharashtra :-) Jai Ho!
