A reader in the Caffe della Pace in Rome, by Fernando Scianna (b. 1943) I got so nostalgic on my trip to San Francisco, where I lived for 20 years. You cant go home again, its true. But you can see, in a window of an ornate stucco building, in a neighborhood between neighborhoods, a pane of glass that was broken four decades ago, and is broken still. And that can bring back every memory, though not one is of broken glass. Is there something like this that would open the floodgates for you?
