He would then state the league has looked away in virtually every previous case, and because of that, no punishment will be handed out by the league in these cases, unfortunately. However, from this day forward, every player should now be completely aware that for the good of both the league and society, there will be absolutely no tolerance of an NFL player ever hitting a woman again. It can, and likely will, result in termination of that players career. End of story. He would also offer his sincerest apology for letting humanity down for so long, and offer to donate his ($44 million) salary this season to various groups that help those who have suffered from domestic violence. I know that wouldnt satisfy everyone. It wont satisfy me, but having looked the other way for so long, the league will not win any of these retroactive punishments in any appeal process. I just pray the spotlight on this will somehow lessen the amount of domestic violence that goes on in this world.
