A real life hero – Ramesh Yadav Me, my mother, brother and two small kids went on an outing to Delhi Haat. A unique place in Delhi to breathe, feel and spend good time. It was a perfect bright sunny day on the onset of a chilling winter. The children were excited, all boarded in an auto rickshaw and wheezed off for a treat from brother to celebrate his promotion at this young age. Me and mother both very proud how within few months got promotion, how many people make it. In our times it was time driven and performance used to take a back-seat. After doing our bit of mandatory shopping we went to a nearby restaurant by an auto for the promised treat. Suddenly the small child started vomiting, all prayed that it would stop as it always happen but things were worsening. In a panicky state we hurriedly stopped in a mid place and opted for the nearest restaurant. The child’s condition was deteriorating; the order was placed at the restaurant. I thought after such a long time we had an outing without husband, it was getting spoiled, we have to go home as soon as possible and rush to doctor. Suddenly I remembered to call husband. I searched my phone but could not find it. Ultimately realized that it was lost, we had left in the auto. The day seemed to become the worst, I started crying inconsolably. The purse had five thousand cash, two new digital cameras, the priceless mobile with all the contacts, the Driving license, ATM card and the lip gloss I just bought. My brother lodge the complaint to the police station by his phone and we all came to the doctor’s chamber. Doctor told nothing serious and few antibiotics were given. A huge relief for all of us. My mother immediately promised to the All-Knowing that she would keep fast once it is recovered, brother in still feeling guilty once more tried the phone, this time the driver took the call. He agreed to return the next day – a date and time was fixed. The next day they went well ahead of time not to take any chance. The driver made them wait beside the magnificent Crwon Plaza hotel. It was a quiet place, several times it crossed their mind would be return or not. Recently an advertisement is running, an idea, a conscience to go in the right direction, a cab driver returning the bag and igniting the people to a corrupt free would. We discussed the advertisement and prayed if the driver sees it, then certainly he would change his mind for the better. The driver arrived; my husband could not believe, any man of any stature would have thought a thousand times to return the treasure. All the characters in this real story are certainly unimportant except the driver, whose name deserves mention – Ramesh Yadav. A small good deed that stuck in our hearts and of many friends who were retold the story. The next time when we would be in a dilemma between mind and heart, the smiling bright face of Ramesh would obliterate it and lead us to the path of righteousness. Thank you Ramesh YadavJi, no profession is small, it is the way to carry it, the attitude really matters. We all can do our bit in each countless days to make it count and shine like a new penny, smiling and let others smile.
