A really special woman died suddenly in Sierra Leone yesterday. I had known her all my life. She was for the first half of my life the most beautiful woman I knew. She taught at The Grammar School briefly in the 90s. I was the little bride when she got married. She was a sister and an Aunty. She had two sons. We spent Christmas and New Years together this year and kept company into the night. She was healthy when she left Accra for Freetown less than a month ago. When I was told she died today it just didnt and still doesnt make sense. She wasnt even 50. She wasnt sick. I dont understand. I am just so confused right now. She was a straight talking, generous, and considerate woman, one of my moms dearest friends, no more like the sister she never had. There was no one like my Aunty. No one! Unbelievable. I just feel so cold.
