A reasder asks 2hi. my 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with autism. she doesnt sleep or eat much , she hits herself repeatedly and other also. she gets into fits and screams at the top of her lungs for hours at a time,and hates sounds .... any kind of sound there is . now , the pedopsychiatrist just prescribed her some Risperdal. the problem I have with it is that it has never been properly studied on kids under 6 and the side effects are quite disturbing. I would also have to get her blood checked every 3weeks to make sure her organs arent getting disturbed by the meds and her jaw could have some sort of trauma .which is permanent. the meds are only prescribed as a sedative....... I mean seriously I dont want to sedate her . she has tried melatonin clonidin and trazone to help her sleep but still no luck. now its Risperdal. does anyone have any suggestions or experience rwgarding this medication in small children
