A recent incident reminds me of a young woman who was kidnapped - TopicsExpress

A recent incident reminds me of a young woman who was kidnapped from her jobs parking lot, forced to withdraw money from her banks ATM, then shot and dumped on a remote country road near my college campus. Shortly afterwards, the alleged perpetrators were caught. My father called me to lecture me on taking care when driving back and forth alone, to put up my hair and not to hesitate in giving up the car if necessary... It was hard for me to wrap my head around losing a child, but for the first time in my life it was close enough or touched me in such a way that I felt--I dont know--angry. I imagined if it were my child and I came up with no answer that didnt violate every Christian more I had been taught as well as several laws. I asked my father what he would do if it were his child. Without hesitation, he responded that a bullet was .38 cents and that the perpetrator would never see the inside of a courtroom; his tax dollars would not support the perpetrator for the rest of his years on the planet. Almost 20 years later and seeing so many countless similar incidents, I know that this is yet another reason I dont want to be a mother. I am my fathers child and I wouldnt hesitate to do the same.
