A refrain we hear frequently at HSHV is “Don’t you have anything besides Pit Bulls?” We do tend to have a lot of Pit Bulls up for adoption at HSHV because of their unfortunately maligned reputation and their tendency to be overbred. We believe Pit Bulls make great companions and are often good family dogs! Pit Bulls aren’t for everyone, though, and we understand some people are looking for a different type of dog. Luckily, we get all different types of dogs into our shelter! Today both of our dog adoptions were for non-Pit Bull canines. They were for the adorable Boston Terrier, Bella (pictured below), and the peppy Jack Russell, Trixie. We are also celebrating the adoption of the handsome FIV+ cat Jasper (also pictured below), as well the felines Sheeva, Cricket, Lily Bean and Red Button.
